Säinaru
saints white light
Medieval art has created one of the most known images – the saint
These images of persons are recognized as they have a halo around their head. Early paintings, from which säinaru was inspired have a flat forward facing circle, usually bright – as it supposedly emits light.
I love early medieval art. I think it achieved such levels if purification and simplicity in its ability to convey complex messages without any text.
I decided to take that image of a saint and move to it the realm of 3D and product design. I turned it into a lamp that is using a white reflector as the known halo.
Säinaru, a handmade ceramic lamp uses a powerful light source which emits light on the reflector that by that spreading in softly.
