About
Exploring the gray area between industry and art
The Creative Technologist: Eitan Rieger
"If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses."
That famous Henry Ford quote is the pulse of my work. Many service providers will build exactly what you ask for. I’m the one who asks why you’re asking for it in the first place.
I am a Creative Industrial Designer and R&D Consultant with over 15 years of experience (graduating in 2006 with Bd.s Industrial design) sitting at the volatile intersection of software engineering, industrial design, and contemporary art. I don’t just "solve problems". I find the hidden solutions that live behind the taboos and the "impossible" barriers.
The Back-Window Perspective
My trajectory was never linear. I approached the world of design and prototyping through the back window of software and contemporary dance. This means I look at a physical object and see the logic, the movement, and the mechanics hidden inside the matter.
Whether it's developing a Hardware MVP for a robotics startup, designing kinetic furniture, or mapping immersive video onto a 14th-century church, my process is a synthesis of "hard and soft." I blend analog materials like ceramics and wood with Industry 2.0 devices and AI-driven design tools.
My credentials include work for:
Deutsches Museum, Uma Robotics, Motionlab Berlin, Engino, and the Berlin Music Video Awards.

Code, Matter, and Movement
My background isn't just technical; it’s physical. My years in improvisation dance influence every mechanical arm I build or light pulse I program. To me, a shifting LED or a moving robot is a form of choreography. I see the "modified present", where our futuristic predictions are usually just reflections of our current limits, and I strive to push beyond them.
I am not for everyone
If you are looking for a "yes-man" to build a faster horse, you are in the wrong place. If you are stuck in a "we’ve always done it this way," mental state, where we won't get along.
You may call me a Creative Troublemaker. I am here to:
Ask uncomfortable questions that lead to radical breakthroughs.
Break things apart to rebuild them smarter and more resilient.
Bridge the gap between a wild visionary idea and a functional, physical reality.
I work with individuals, startups, and institutions that want to invent the future, not just decorate the present.
Let’s build the future
If you have a challenge that scares your current team, or a bold idea that needs a Hardware MVP, let’s talk.
